TRAVEL INFORMATION
There are many ways to travel to Nisyros:
By Air to Kos and then by boat to Nisyros from the port in Kos or from the port of Kardamena village:

Direct flights from Athens: at least 3-4 flights per day during summer time
(approximately 45 minutes) -
Direct flights from different European Cities
By Boat to and from Nisyros:

At least 2 departures from Piraeus port (Athens) per day during summer time (approximately 5-12 hours’ journey).

There are daily ferries from Kos (Kardamena village) to Nisyros leaving at 9:30 a.m. in the morning from the village of Kardamena which is 7 minutes from the airport (with taxi).

There are daily ferries from Nisyros to Kos (Kardamena village) leaving 15:30 p.m.

Apart from that ferry, from May to October there are small boats transfering tourists from Kardamena to Nisyros, departing daily from Kardamena at 09:30 and 19.30 and going back from Nisyros at 15:30.The sailing time from Kardamena to Nisyros is one hour and from Kos town to Nisyros two hours.

VISA INFORMATION
Greece follows the Schengen Agreement provisions and the subsequent acquis concerning short term visa issues. Countries applying the Schengen acquis in full (EU countries plus associated EFTA countries) follow a common visa policy for short-term stays of up to three (3) months in the Schengen area. The citizens of these countries are not subjected to border controls within the common area (airlines or other carriers require identification – I.D. Card or passport or any other piece of identification issued by a public authority).
